Texas A&M football lost a boatload of starters after 2018 but the question now is who is going to step up in their place as breakout candidates?

The 2019 football season is just around the corner. Fall camp is about to begin and teams are shaking out who will start in what positions. Texas A&M has some obvious ones, filled in with guys who made a name for themselves a season ago — Kendrick Rogers and Quartney Davis being obvious ones. However, there are absolutely guys who are poised to make a big step up in 2019.

Before we get into those guys though, let’s talk honorable mention- starting with a wideout just waiting for his turn in the spotlight, Jhamon Ausbon.

So far, Ausbon has two seasons under his belt of being the underdog of the receiving corps. He has set behind guys like Kendrick Rogers and Quartney Davis as well as the likes of tight end Jace Sternberger. He didn’t get a lot of playing time as a result and didn’t even catch a touchdown pass in 2018.

Look for that to change in 2019 though as he begins his junior season. I would put money on him evolving into a guy that Jimbo Fisher can rely on and that will get him more playing time than he has gotten as the years have passed for him. He may not be a starter Week 1 or anything like that, but he will be a contributor in a major way — something that is more than he can say about years past.
