Peyton Ramsey could be Big Ten’s most underrated QB

If it’s imperative to have a solid starting quarterback in the Big Ten, the Hoosiers definitely have one in rising junior Peyton Ramsey.

After splitting time with Richard Lagow in 2017 as a freshman, Ramsey established himself as the man in Bloomington in 2018 completing 66 percent of his passes for 2,875 yards and 19 touchdowns. He needs to take care of the ball and improve on those 13 interceptions, but he’s the leader of the offense. He might have to beat out Utah transfer Jack Tuttle, but the job is his to lose.

Ramsey will have rising sophomore Stevie Scott and his 1,137 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns to hand the ball off to.

There’s plenty of talent at the skill positions.

In fact, three of their top five receivers return from last year’s team. Nick Westbrook, Donavan Hale and Ty Fryfogle return to a group that had five receivers with at least 35 catches.

The offensive line returns three starters from last year’s squad as well. This group needs to stay steady, and add some explosive plays to their arsenal which won’t be easy against the Big Ten East.
