5. Josh Jobe, CB

With Trevon Diggs and Patrick Surtain on the team, it is hard to imagine another cornerback being a player you need to focus on. However, Josh Jobe isn’t just any other player.

The secondary will be the strength of Alabama’s defense, and Josh Jobe adds to that this year. Alabama likes to run a lot of nickel defense, and Jobe will get looks at starting corner with first team nickel. In that scenario, Patrick Surtain will move to Star.

Jobe has shown a lot with the defense in the spring. In Alabama’s A-day game, he made plenty of plays showing off his strength and ball skills. He will also add crucial depth if another corner happens to go down.

Jobe is the type of player who forces himself onto the field. He is simply too talented to stay on the sidelines. Between Jobe emerging and Diggs returning from injury, expect the secondary to be filled with ball-hawking members.

Jobe will likely make highlights all season. This is just the beginning for him and his Alabama career. In all likelihood, the sophomore will be one of many breakout stars for the Tide this season. Make sure you keep an eye on him as the team prepares for the season.
