Can new head coach Mike Locksley and his new coaching staff rebuild Maryland football’s culture and turn the program around?

Last season’s drama, which included the tragic death of player Jordan McNair, ended with the firing of head coach DJ Durkin and offensive coordinator Matt Canada took over as the interim coach in his absence.

The Terrapins decided not to hire Canada as their full-time head coach and instead hire Mike Locksley who served as Maryland offensive coordinator under former coach Randy Edsall and interim after the head coach was fired.

Ironically enough, Locksley was passed over in favor of Durkin. Now he takes over a program recovering from the death of a teammate amid administrative turmoil. What will this season bring for the Terrapins?

Here’s a look at their offense, defense and a prediction of how they will fare in 2019.
