Fortunately for the Irish, they will have no problem bouncing back from the tough road loss. They welcome the Virginia Cavaliers at home the next week, which is exactly what they will need. Despite the University of Virginia, as a whole, being on an ultimate athletic high at the moment, their football team will continue to let them down.

Bronco Mendenhall has continuously improved the Cavalier’s record every year since he has been hired. In 2018, Mendenhall posted his best record with the team yet with an 8-5 year. The season was capped off with a dominating Belk Bowl performance over the South Carolina Gamecocks, winning 28-0.

But didn’t you just say their football team would continue to let them down? It sounds like they had a pretty good year. Yes, but their wins were not against quality opponents, nor were they at all relatively competitive in the ACC. Virginia will hope to improve from a 4-4 conference record.

The Cavaliers will lose this non-conference game against an angry Notre Dame team.

Final: Virginia 17, Notre Dame 28 (3-1)
