At the end of last season, I would have said this game could have the potential to go either way and would be a tough game to predict.

However, with all the craziness that has been going down in Southern California, I just don’t see how the Trojans can pull out the type of season they were hoping for. Why don’t we take just a brief review of all that has gone down since the first of the year for USC.

Kliff Kingsbury, who was originally hired away from Texas Tech to be the offensive coordinator, almost immediately left to take the head coaching job of the Arizona Cardinals. At Texas Tech, Kingsbury was the head coach since 2013 and had a mediocre tenure.

Additionally, five-star wide receiver recruit, Bru McCoy, left the Trojans and transferred back to Texas. Now, McCoy is back with the Trojans, or so we think. Paired with the McCoy drama, the Trojans lost a handful of other wide receivers to the transfer portal.

JT Daniels will be in his second year starting for USC. As a true freshman, he played well at times, but didn’t have much help around him. Just like 2018, the Trojans will have their ups and downs, and on Oct. 12, it will be one of those downs.

Final: Notre Dame 31, USC 14 (5-1)
