3. Adrian Martinez will earn Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year

He set the Big Ten on fire as a true freshman, passing for 2,617 yards, rushing for 629 and had 25 total touchdowns. Martinez’s production earned him freshman All-America honors and now Husker nation is wondering what the 19-year old has in store for an encore.

He’s no doubt the leader of Frost’s offense and a lot of players are depending on Martinez to lead them to the promised land. Currently he’s listed as the fourth-best favorite to win the 2019 Heisman Trophy, with 10-1 odds.

And rightfully so. After all, he finished No. 2 in the Big Ten in total offense, behind Dwayne Haskins. Martinez has tremendous upside and as long as he stays healthy Nebraska has a chance to win every game this season.

He will in fact start every game for Nebraska in 2019, double his passing and rushing numbers and lead the team to bowl eligibility for the first time since 2016. Accomplishing those feats will earn Martinez a lot of recognition and he’ll become the first Husker player to be named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.
