Chip Kelly is looking to make great improvements in his second season with UCLA football. Can this Bruins team make a realistic run at the Pac-12 South?

Chip Kelly’s first season leading the UCLA Bruins was undoubtedly subpar. However, it is reasonable to assume that this year will be much better than the 3-9 record that the Bruins posted in 2018.

Last season, UCLA was plagued by injury at the quarterback position. In the first half of their opening game, Michigan graduate transfer Wilton Speight was injured. Dorian Thompson-Robinson, a true freshman, was forced to take over for the Bruins.

Right as Thompson-Robinson was starting to get in a groove under center, he, too, was injured and Speight took back over. This back-and-forth at the quarterback position proved to be detriment to UCLA’s ability to win.

If Thompson-Robinson can stay healthy, UCLA will have a better season than many are expecting.

Let’s take a game-by-game look at the Bruins’ future opponents.
