There aren’t enough good things to say about the Stanford football program. Of course, most impressively, David Shaw sits atop the program.

This season, the Cardinal will be looking to replace two of their best players from 2018, running back, Bryce Love, and, wide receiver, JJ Arcega-Whiteside. Who will step up for Stanford at those positions remains undetermined. But, Coach Shaw still has his reliable quarterback from last year, K. J. Costello.

Costello has had some injury issues in the past, and by mid-October, he may be plagued with similar problems. Furthermore, the UCLA Bruins will be coming off a confidence boosting win followed by a restful bye week.

Did someone say upset alert? Yes.

UCLA took Stanford down to the wire last season, losing 49-42. Dorian Thompson-Robinson will have a breakout game, and the rest of the team will have the memory of last year’s final game loss at the forefront of their mind. The Bruins will come out of the Stanford game on everyone’s radar.

Final: UCLA 41, Stanford 40 (5-2, 3-1)
