After an extremely disappointing 2018 season, Florida State football is happy to be starting the 2019 season in just a few short weeks.

Before the 2018 season, the last time Florida State had a losing season was 1976 when it went 5-6. The program had been one of the most consistent over the past few decades.

Then 2018 came along and the wheels fell off. There were a lot of factors that led to Florida State’s 5-7 season last year, which has been covered through out the whole offseason.

Florida State is ready to start the 2019 season for the simple fact that it can stop answering questions about the 2018 season. The seminoles should see plenty of improvement on both sides of the ball as they have more experience under head coach Willie Taggart, who is entering his second year as the Seminoles lead guy.

To help improve an inconsistent offense, the Seminoles brought in Kendal Briles to be their offensive coordinator this season. Briles’ offense will help the offensive line out as well as help running back Cam Akers get back to his freshman season form.

James Blackman should be the man under center with former Wisconsin quarterback Alex Hornibrook transferring in with the hopes of taking over at quarterback if he struggles.

While I certainly don’t expect Florida State to be competing for a national championship this year, I expect them to very much improved and find themselves back in a relevant bowl game.
