Our series of 2019 college football preview podcasts concludes this week with a look at SEC football. Hear our thoughts on how things will shake out this year.

The 2019 college football season is nearly upon us. Just a few weeks separate us from the opening kickoff to campaigns around the country. And few places are as rabidly excited about the start of a new football season than the Deep South, home of the SEC.

When it comes to depth of individual and collective talent, no conference can rival the SEC. But in recent years, the conference that has produced more national champions since the advent of the Coalition era in 1992 has had an issue with competitive balance between its two divisions.

Will that be an issue this year? With Georgia increasingly being challenged by divisional rivals like Tennessee and Florida, the window could ostensibly be closing for the Bulldogs in their race to chase down Alabama and conquer the Crimson Tide. Can Kirby Smart’s team make it back to Atlanta for the SEC title game this year?

And, if they do get there, will there be anybody that can stop Alabama from meeting them at Mercedes-Benz Stadium to play for the conference crown? The West has recently been the deeper of the two divisions, and teams like Texas A&M, LSU, and Auburn each have cases to make if they hope to catch Nick Saban’s squad this season.

Hear about all this and more as we dive in to break down the twists and turns likely to befall every SEC team this season. We also offer our picks for offensive and defensive players of the year, and discuss later in the final segment how many SEC schools will land spots in the College Football Playoff and New Year’s Six bowls once the 2019 regular season concludes.
