Iowa State Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2019
After a road victory against Baylor, Iowa State will come back home and face off against a defense-led TCU team. This will be the battle of the two best defenses in the Big 12. TCU won last year in a close game that ended with the Horned Frogs having the upper hand in a 17-14 ball game.
The Horned Frogs are in the middle of a quarterback competition and if things don’t go their way, they could be playing multiple quarterbacks through out the season. However, Gary Patterson is one of the best coaches in college football and will have his team in every game thanks to his defense. I have TCU coming into this game 3-1 with their only loss being to Purdue up to this point.
If TCU’s offense can get rollin this year, they could have a shot to make a run at the Big 12 title, but I have Iowa State winning this game in a close defensive game that once again comes down to Brock Purdy leading the Cyclones on a game winning drive in the fourth quarter.
Final Score: TCU 17, Iowa State 20 (5-0, 2-0)
