Michigan State football’s offense was lackluster in 2018. Can the Spartans rebound enough to not be a liability in 2019?

The Michigan State Spartans had a rash of injuries in 2018 that derailed their season which came to a crashing end with a dud of a 7-6 loss to Oregon in the Redbox Bowl.

This season, the Spartans look to rebound. Whether it ends in a championship run is another story.

However, the offense, which ranked a putrid 117th in total offense a year ago, absolutely cannot have a repeat performance. On the other side of the ball, the defense was one of coach Mark Dantonio’s best of his 12 years in East Lansing. Had the defense been just mediocre, the Spartans would have easily been in the cellar of the conference.

The Spartans have likely won the award for worst uniforms of the 2019 season. We are no fashion experts, but not sure what is up with the lime green or how big the word “STATE” is across the chest.

Regardless of what threads the team will wear, the team looks to be improved over last season. Let us preview the Spartans 2019 season.
