How will the Bulldogs fare in 2019?

  • Week 1: vs. Louisiana (Aug. 31) (New Orleans, La.)
  • Week 2: Southern Miss (Sept. 7)
  • Week 3: Kansas State (Sept. 14)
  • Week 4: Kentucky (Sept. 21)
  • Week 5: at Auburn (Sept. 28)
  • Week 6: BYE
  • Week 7: at Tennessee (Oct. 12)
  • Week 8: LSU (Oct. 19)
  • Week 9: at Texas A&M (Oct. 26)
  • Week 10: at Arkansas (Nov. 2)
  • Week 11: BYE
  • Week 12: Alabama (Nov. 16)
  • Week 13: Abilene Christian (Nov. 23)
  • Week 14: Ole Miss (Nov. 28)

Life in the SEC is tough, especially in the West division. The Bulldogs have tough road trips to Auburn, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Luckily they miss Georgia and Florida from the East, but of course they need to deal with LSU and Alabama. Good news that both teams travel to Starkville.

The non conference slate is not a gauntlet, but the Bulldogs cannot slouch either. Abilene Christian should be a gimme, but the Bulldogs cannot be caught looking ahead to the Egg Bowl five days later. Louisiana is a neutral site game to kick off the year and the Bulldogs host both Southern Miss and Kansas State. All winnable games.

Prediction: 8-4, 4-4 SEC

The Bulldogs should be better and more consistent on offense. Even though they lost a lot on defense, there is still plenty of talent to compete. The Bulldogs won’t be competing for the SEC West title this season. But Joe Moorhead’s second year at the helm should still see a good season and a respectable bowl bid.
