Adrian Martinez leads growing offense
Scott Frost’s offense needs a trigger man. He had McKenzie Milton at Central Florida and he has Adrian Martinez now. His development and maturity in the offense is critical to the success of the Huskers. He had a very good freshman season throwing for 2,617 yards and 17 touchdowns.
They will, however, have to replace the production of Devine Ozigbo. It looks like Georgia Tech transfer Dedrick Mills and freshmen Wan’Dale Robinson and Rahmir Johnson will carry the load since Maurice Washington has some potentially serious legal issues.
The offense will also have to replace Stanley Morgan Jr. at wide receiver. However, Martinez and the Husker offense has options. JD Spielman had eight receiving touchdowns last year Jack Stoll is a legit threat at tight end and Cal transfer Kanawai Noa adds depth.
The offensive line, much like the team, got better as the season progressed. They get Brenden Jaimes back at right tackle and Cam Jurgens is emerging at center.
