Nebraska football must manage hype, lofty expectations in 2019

Defense needs to get back to the basics
This is the unit that needs the most help, and help — it seems — has come. In second year coordinator Erik Chinander’s 3-4 scheme depth especially along the defensive line is of utmost importance.
The defensive line will have depth with Oklahoma transfer Darrion Daniels and his younger brother Damian at the nose. In addition, Ben Stille, and the Davis twins Khalil and Carlos will rotate at defensive end.
Mohamed Barry, last years leading tackler, has added much-needed leadership on defense and JoJo Domann adds some athleticism and muscle to a pass rush that had 25 sacks.
The secondary brings back experience at corner with Lamar Jackson and Dicaprio Bootle, but will need someone to step up at safety where they are largely unproven. Deontai Williams is the only safety with a start under his belt.
