Alabama football is headed on a long journey this season that ideally would end in dethroning Clemson and taking the top spot once again.

The Crimson Tide had quite the season a year ago, going undefeated until they ran into a Clemson-shaped roadblock at the national title game.

Of course, now they face a new reality: One in which they aren’t the kings of college football and one in which their stronghold on college football as a whole as loosened a bit as Clemson holds onto that spot at the top of the world.

Will Alabama return to greatness and grab another national title or will it fall second to Clemson — or someone else — again?

5. Tua Tagovailoa wins the Heisman

After finishing second in Heisman voting a year ago, Tua Tagovailoa is ready to get back into the swing of things. Of course, the only issue would be the injury bug that hit his knee and ankle late last season and surely impacted his performance in the national title game.

The difference this year? There is no Jalen Hurts to bail Tua out if he gets injured again. Sophomore Mac Jones and freshman Taulia Tagovailoa will battle for the No. 2 spot, but neither of them is Hurts-level experienced.

Of course, as heard above, Nick Saban is pretty high on Tua and has all the confidence in the world in him and his leadership. He has earned that praise as well. All he did was hit 69 percent of his passes for close to 4,000 yards with 43 touchdowns with just six picks and all of that production came with him rarely seeing the fourth quarter.

My first bold prediction? Tua Tagovailoa wins the Heisman this season after putting up even more video game-like numbers.
