Running Backs

Starting running back: Scottie Phillips
Backup: Snoop Conner OR Isaiah Woullard OR Jerrion Ealy

Scottie Phillips was a welcomed addition to the Rebels last season, narrowly missing out on 1,000 yards rushing only because of a late-season ankle injury. He will be counted on once again as Rich Rodriguez’s offensive philosophy is built around a run heavy spread concept. A young quarterback also brings the need to rely on a steady run game and Phillips can provide that.

Behind him is true freshman Snoop Conner who has really stood out since he arrived on campus back in the spring. Isaiah Woullard is an experienced sophomore who played well last season and was expected to be the primary backup but obviously Conner has impressed the coaches to move ahead of Woullard.

The wild card is Jerrion Ealy who was highly-touted out of high school and picked Ole Miss over Clemson. Ealy is a player the coaches are going to find a role for. Whether it’s as a primary runner or slot action, jet sweeps or whatever, Ealy will have a role in this offense in Week 1.
