2. Florida is well on its way to winning the SEC East

Who knew Florida was that deep on its defensive line. It seemed as if they threw 20 different defensive linemen against Miami and the Gators still had 11 sacks against Miami.

Before you anoint the Gators the new kings in the East, this is probably the worst offensive line they’ll face all season — and that includes Vanderbilt and Tennessee. They play one other freshman quarterback this year, and that’s Bo Nix of Auburn. They will see a pair of freshman tackles against Tennessee, but a redshirt junior quarterback in Jarrett Guarantano. They don’t get the benefit of an inexperienced quarterback playing behind an inexperienced offensive line again.

Not only that, Feleipe Franks didn’t set the world on fire. He was definitely more composed than usual, but we saw a of the same old Feleipe as well. He threw two unforgivable interceptions, along with some other questionable decisions. Although the offensive line looked better than Miami’s giving up just one sack, Franks was flushed and running all night, and Florida turned the ball over four times.

Moreover, Lamical Perine and the run game never got going, averaging only 1.9 yards per carry and 52 yards total. Not only will Florida face better offensive lines, they will also face better defenses.

Dan Mullen has done a fantastic job in a short time in Gainesville, but he has a little more to go before he dethrones Georgia.
