West Virginia and N.C. State were slated to play last season in Charlotte, but a hurricane caused the game to be cancelled. They’ll square off this season in Morgantown, though, with Neal Brown in charge of the ‘Eers this time around.

Last year’s Wolfpack team was led by head coach Dave Doeren and quarterback Ryan Finley. They averaged nearly 34 points per game and only surrendered 24.9. Their 41-7 loss to eventual-national champion Clemson ended their early-season undefeated streak, but the Wolfpack regrouped nicely and finished 9-4.

To beat N.C. State, West Virginia will need a total team effort from every Mountaineer in Milan Puskar Stadium — including the 60,000 fans.

After a tough loss at Missouri, nothing will get the train back on the tracks quicker than a win in Almost Heaven. Those Country Roads brought the ‘Eers home for a hard-fought victory.

Prediction: NC State 23, West Virginia 27 (2-1)
