After winning a national title in January, Clemson football is out to prove it can do it all over again. What are the keys to victory for the Tigers vs. Georgia Tech?

Clemson went undefeated a year ago, taking down Alabama in the National Championship. Now, they start off 2019 with a visit from Georgia Tech, a team with a brand new head coach looking to rebuild this team into an ACC powerhouse. What does Clemson have to do to be sure that the rebuild doesn’t end in an upset at Memorial Stadium? Let’s talk keys to the game.

3. Keeping Trevor Lawrence upright

Yes, it really is that simple. Trevor Lawrence is likely one of the best quarterbacks in the country — if not the best — and is widely talked about as a Heisman favorite. He’s got a deep wide receiver corps and the same at the running back position, so to say that Lawrence is locked and loaded with weapons all around him would be putting it mildly.

Now, it’s his offensive lines job to keep him upright and able to get the ball where it needs to be. This unit isn’t all flashy, but they are talented and will be ready to go to face off against Georgia Tech and then Texas A&M in Week 2.

A year ago, the Tigers allowed just 17 tackles, and was third in the nation in fewest tackles for loss allowed. Now, even down their old center and left tackle, this unit has the keys to get back to where they were a year ago.
