College football fans have been waiting for Week 1 since January. What are some great games that may be slipping through the cracks?

With Week 1 about to finally get under way, college football fans will be excited to just have football on their TV screens, regardless who is playing. Fans will be tuned in to their favorite team, of course, as well as keeping up with some of the bigger matchups going on in Week 1.

With it being only Week 1, there are not a lot of premier matchups on the slate — the “biggest” games of the weekend would include Oregon vs, Auburn and Boise State vs. Florida State.

Just because there aren’t a lot of AP Top 25 matchups being played doesn’t mean there aren’t a lot of interesting games. South Carolina vs. North Carolina, Ole Miss at Memphis, Houston vs. Oklahoma, Virginia at Pitt, Virginia Tech at Boston College and Northwestern at Stanford are all interesting and intriguing games for different reasons that are being played this weekend.

Several of these games would probably be “under-the-radar” games if they were being played on a different week.

With that said, there are still plenty of games that are being overlooked by the national media that are worth watching. Each game has a different reason to check it out. So if you are looking for some quality games that aren’t “marquee” matchups, here are three to check out.
