Purdue enters the 2019 campaign on the road Friday night against a tough non-Power Five team. Nevada and Purdue have only ever met once in 2016. The Boilermakers won the game at home by 10 and this is the return game for the series. Purdue is favored by 10.5 points in this one.

Purdue’s advantage will be Rondale Moore and the rest of the talented Boilermaker receivers. Nevada’s secondary is about to be severely tested. If quarterback Elijah Sindelar has enough time to find his targets, the Wolf Pack secondary will be torched all night long.

But there is a key component for Nevada. Getting to Sindelar and making him uncomfortable in the pocket. Nevada recorded 36 sacks last season with multiple look defensive pressures and will look to pick up where they left off. The biggest question mark for Purdue is their offensive line. If they cannot stop the Nevada pass rush, Sindelar will not be able to get the ball to his play makers.

Both defenses will likely give up a lot in this one. The game will probably come down to which team has the ball last in a high scoring affair. If the Wolf Pack can keep up the points and slow down Sindelar and his receivers just enough, they may just be able to pull off the victory.
