2. FAU starts hot

While the Buckeyes are getting acclimated to their new personnel, Kiffin and the Owls will get off to a hot start. Second-year Owl Chris Robison is the expected starter after throwing for over 2,500 yards and scoring 12 touchdowns a season ago. It is possible the Owls will roll out multiple quarterbacks, though.

Regardless, Kiffin will have his team ready to take on the Buckeyes in Columbus. Last season began with a beat-down at the hands of Oklahoma, so expect the Owls to jump ahead early before the depth of the Buckeyes catches up with them.

Replacing experienced players like Jovon Durante, Devin Singletary and Kerrith Whyte will be tough, but Kiffin’s recruited extremely well among Conference USA teams. It’s time to see how those players stack up against the likes of the Buckeyes.
