Oregon Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Auburn in season opener
By Dakota Cox
The biggest game in the first full week of action is when the Auburn plays Oregon football. What should we expect in this game?
We are used to having huge games to open the college football season. Although there aren’t any top-10 opponents facing off in Week 1, we still have one great game too look forward to. Oregon and Auburn will both be looking for a statement win to open the season in Arlington, Texas.
Auburn has one of the hardest schedules in all of college football this season. It doesn’t get any easier after this game. Because of that, this is likely a must-win for the Tigers. However, Oregon is in a conference that hasn’t seen a team make the College Football Playoff in either of the past two seasons.
With the Pac-12 being perceived as a weaker conference, the Ducks might have to go 12-0 in order to make the CFP. It’s hard to say in just the first week, but this feels like a must-win for both teams.
Auburn has one of the best returning defensive lines in college football, but its offense struggled last year. The Tigers also have a freshman quarterback in charge of the offense. Bo Nix was viewed as the future for Auburn football, but he appears to be ahead of schedule.
Oregon has a great offensive line, their returning starting quarterback, and the best incoming recruiting class in program history. All things seem to be trending up for the Ducks, but can they beat the Tigers?
So, what should we expect for this game? No matter who wins, the game will be incredibly interesting with major implications on the College Football Playoff.
