Texas A&M football cruised to victory against Texas State on Thursday night and fans are excited about what they saw. How excited should they really be?

The Aggies had quite the exciting opening game against Texas State, filled with touchdowns and interceptions. There was a lot of growth seen from the last season to this first game for sure, which is good because they are headed to Death Valley to take on the defending National Champion Clemson Tigers in just a weeks time.

First week wins against lesser opponents calls for quite a bit of overreactions, don’t you think?

3. This offensive line isn’t ready for Clemson — or anyone

I feel like this one is less of an overreaction and more of just a fact, but the Aggie offensive line needs some help before they take on the Clemson Tigers, who looked just fine in their opener against Georgia Tech.

Their defensive line looked ready to party and the Aggie offensive line struggled to get the running game going all night long. There were a few strong plays by both Jashaun Corbin and Isaiah Spiller, but all in all, it was a pitiful performance due to disappointing blocking across the board on the front line.

This unit is dealing with replacing trusty center Erik McCoy and guard Keaton Sutherland, but there is enough seniority on this line that they should be able to deal with that head-on.

The only underclassmen on the line on Thursday night in terms of starters was true freshman Kenyon Green. Otherwise, this was mostly juniors and seniors that just struggled with assignments and had to be bailed out by a mobile quarterback who was able to make something out of nothing.
