Notre Dame football is finally back. Here’s a look at three bold predictions for the Irish as they head to Louisville to kick off the 2019 season.

It has felt like an eternity since the Irish last suited up for their Cotton Bowl matchup with Clemson, but the college football season has finally returned and head coach Brian Kelly and Co. are tasked with opening up the season with a matchup vs. a Louisville team that won only two games last season.

While this presents the possibility for a really fun game to watch (for Notre Dame fans), the Irish will have to be careful to avoid a start similar to that of 2018 where the they crawled out to a 3-0 record after back to back nail-biters against Ball State and Vanderbilt. It’s fair to assume that a revenge tour has been on the minds of these Louisville players for quite some time, posing the potential for an early upset if the Irish come out particularly flat.

If the Irish do play well, this shouldn’t be much of a contest. With that said, here are three bold predictions for the Irish as they start out the season on the road.
