While Louisville won’t be the toughest team that Notre Dame football faces this year, they still present a challenge. Here’s how the Irish can take them down.

Notre Dame will round out Week 1 of the college football season this week with a Monday night matchup against the ACC’s Louisville Cardinals. This is a team that won only two games last season, so chances are they’ll come out of the gate pretty hot with hopes of starting off the 2019 season on the right foot.

How long that will last, however, is the question.

The Cardinals will be going up against a Notre Dame team that has little interest in letting their competition stick around after a slow start to the 2018 season with current UCF quarterback Brandon Wimbush under center. Instead, the Irish would prefer to see quarterback Ian Book and Co. make quick and easy work of the Cardinals.

The Irish are nearly 20-point favorites for Monday’s contest, so they’ll be heading into this one with very good odds to pull out the victory. Here’s how they can assure themselves a win to kick off the new season.
