2. D’Eriq King won’t be that far behind

If you’ve never seen Houston’s senior quarterback D’Eriq King play, you have missed a genuine treat. King is one of the most entertaining quarterbacks in all of college football. A dual-threat quarterback, King had over 3,500 total yards and 40 total touchdowns last year.

New head coach Dana Holgorsen might run a pass-centric form of the spread offense, but he’s also one of the brightest offensive minds in college football. He’ll figure out how to use King on the ground as well as in the air.

Oklahoma hired Alex Grinch away from Washington State to take over the defense. They needed a change, too. This was a defense that allowed 453.8 yards and 33 points per game. Scheme will only count for so much for the Sooners because their issue was personnel also.

They’ll be better, but they won’t stop King for four quarters.
