1. The Sooners will pull away late

Although the Sooners’ defense is a work in progress, they will have just enough offense to hold off the Cougars. With all the personnel issues the Houston Cougars have on defense, there isn’t a scenario where Houston is able to stop the Sooner offense.

Oklahoma should start pretty hot. It’s a prime time home game for the Sooners, so Memorial Stadium will be loud, and full of Crimson and Cream.

This could go one of two ways. If Oklahoma gets off early and often, there’s a possibility they can run and hide from the Cougars. Their last game against Army showed that Houston might fold if they get overwhelmed. However, if they can survive that initial surge from the Sooners, they can get back in the game and stay within striking distance.

Alex Grinch has been preaching turnovers since he’s been in Norman.
