Notre Dame football is coming off a playoff appearance and Louisville is attempting to rebound from a disaster of a season.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are coming off of the best season since their 2012 BCS National Championship appearance against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Ian Book took over for Brandon Wimbush early in the season, and Clark Lea’s defense was one of the best in the entire country. The Irish are looking to return to the playoff while navigating a difficult schedule.

The Louisville Cardinals are coming off one of a disastrous season. They finished 2-10 and former head coach Bobby Petrino didn’t finish the season. This year, Louisville has a new head coach in former Appalachian State head coach Scott Satterfield. He’s looking to change what became a negative culture and bring in the winning formula that he developed in Boone, N.C., for the Mountaineers.
