1. Future Notre Dame storylines

The first game of the year always opens up the door for future narratives to follow throughout the season. After today, this was no different.

While the Irish got off to a slow start, they gave us the confidence that they are once again legitimate contenders in college football. A victory over Louisville will prove to be a “quality win” as the year continues.

Ian Book is still not a front-runner for Heisman Trophy contention. He likely won’t ever join the discusion simply because of how balanced the Notre Dame offense is.

And lastly, Coach Brian Kelly is still  not going to be on the hot seat. It seems like every year he is a coach that gets brought up in the conversation of getting fired, yet his teams continue to perform. Look for Notre Dame to cruise to another 10+ win season with a solid chance at making the College Football Playoff.
