In a relatively uneventful Week 1, there was just a little bit of shakeup in the AP Poll. Who were the biggest winners and losers?

Besides Auburn stealing one from Oregon, there wasn’t much in the way of ranked matchups — something that Week 2 will have quite a bit of. All that being considered though, there were definitely some changes in the AP Poll.

So, without further ado, let’s talk winners and losers, starting with the two most obvious.

Winner: Auburn (No. 16 up to No. 10)

Everyone is shocked at this one right? The Auburn Tigers started slow and did not look like they were going to win this one — which wouldn’t be all that disappointing with the amount of experience on the Oregon side of the field. However, it was the end of the game that was the difference. While Oregon seemed to take their foot off the gas, Bo Nix and the Auburn Tigers turned it on. The Tigers moved up from No. 16 to No. 10 in their shocking victory over Justin Herbert and the Ducks.

Loser: Oregon (No. 11 down to No. 16)

The Ducks are the most shocking loser of the week for me. I had Oregon all the way in the matchup between the Tigers and the Ducks. It looked like I was going to be right, too, until the Tigers pulled it out in the end. It wasn’t that Herbert and the Ducks didn’t play well, because they did. They still fell from No. 11 to No. 16 though as they were simply outplayed in the fourth quarter by a true freshman quarterback in Nix who always wanted to be a Tiger.
