Arizona State football, Jayden Daniels get one final warmup vs. Sacramento State
Arizona State football will prepare for the start of Pac-12 Conference games with Sacramento State. Let’s take a look at the matchup.
In Week 1, the Arizona State Sun Devils got off to a commanding start of their schedule in a home win over Kent State, 30-7. After the departure of star wide receiver, N’Keal Harry, to the NFL, there were serious doubts about how well the Arizona State offense would perform.
Herm Edwards’ offense put up a balanced, 455 yards against Kent State and looked like a well-oiled machine. The Sun Devils ran the ball an astounding 46 times, which supports Edwards’ goal of establishing a run-game against his opponents.
This week, the Sun Devils welcome Sacramento State to Sun Devil Stadium. Sacramento State is an FCS opponent who should set up Arizona State before they have to travel to East Lansing to take on Mark Dantonio’s Spartans.

Keys to Victory
The Arizona State Sun Devils will need to do two things in order to win this game. First, they need to limit their turnovers to no more than two. Even with two turnovers, the Sun Devils won’t have any trouble winning this game. However, any more than that, could give Sacramento State the momentum they need to hang around, especially if they score immediately off the turnovers.
Second, the Sun Devils need to establish the run-game early. But, they also need to stick with the running plays. Eventually, Sacramento State’s defensive players will get tired out from the pounding that is the Arizona State offensive line.
Sacramento State will need a lot of help to win this game. Essentially, they need to take every opportunity presented to score. Furthermore, if they can manage the clock and win the time of possession, they will have a chance.

Prediction
The Sun Devils will be looking past this game to their Week 3 matchup with Michigan State. Although Sacramento State is an FCS opponent, they are still a good football team. Because of these two factors, the game won’t be a blowout early on. However, as the game proceeds, Arizona State will start to significantly pull away. By the third quarter, the game will be out of hand.
Final Score: Arizona State 42, Sacramento State 10
