The college football season is off and running, and the Week 2 slate offers up several high profile matchups that will resonate all season long.
After a mild opening weekend slate in college football, the Week 2 slate delivers several matchups that will have big impacts on the national championship race.
Labor Day weekend didn’t offer the usual big matchups, but we still had plenty of intriguing games and surprising results. Auburn defeated Oregon in the biggest game of the weekend in Arlington to steal the spotlight, but it was the Group of Five that flexed its muscles the most.
Hawaii upset Arizona in Week 0 to get thing started, and Cincinnati, Nevada, Boise State, Memphis, Wyoming and even Georgia State nailed some Power Five skins to the wall.
The picks got off to a hot start, going 9-1 straight up and 6-4 against-the-spread on the opening weekend. Auburn’s win wasn’t a surprise, but the late touchdown from freshman Bo Nix to Seth Williams instead of a preferred game-winning field goal by Anders Carlson kept us from a 7-3 opening weekend.
Regardless, any weekend above .500 against Vegas is a good weekend, and we’re off to a good start. Let’s keep that momentum going with a big week two that features a pair of massive out-of-conference matchups between Clemson-Texas A&M and Texas-LSU. Along with those contests in the national spotlight, there’s a few off-the-radar contests that add to the intrigue of the weekend.
Let’s take a look at the 10 biggest games of week two.
