Week 2 is upon us and with it comes quite a few exciting matchups throughout Saturday. Which college football games should you tune in to this week?
Week 1 only brought us one ranked matchup, but man did it live up to billing. Auburn and Oregon went down to the wire and shocked the world when true freshman Bo Nix made the play to win the game as the clock ticked down.
Jalen Hurts impressed beyond belief for Oklahoma. Trevor Lawrence at Clemson looked average at best bailed out by an excelled performance by his running back Travis Etienne. Justin Fields shined for the Buckeyes. Tua Tagovailoa over at Alabama did exactly what was expected of him against Duke. Texas A&M’s Kellen Mond seems to have turned a corner on an offense that is replacing one of the best running backs in the school’s history.
On the other hand, Tennessee is now facing one of the most disappointing Week 1 losses ever seen, falling to Georgia State. Utah took care of business against BYU and Notre Dame did the same with Louisville. The Longhorns struggled on defense a bit but were able to take care of Louisiana Tech without incident. Cincinnati took down UCLA and Florida State fell to Boise State, vaulting the Broncos into the Top 25.
In fact, only one AP Top 25 team lost in Week 1 and that was Oregon who lost to Auburn which was also ranked. All in all, it was a successful week for almost everyone involved — sorry, Vols. In personal news, I finished 9-of-13 in my picks a week ago, so overall not too bad.
All of that is in the past though, so let’s get to Week 2, shall we?
