Cincinnati travels north for an interstate match up with Ohio State football in Week 2 of the season. Here are three bold predictions.

Both the Bearcats and the Buckeyes won their Week 1 games. The Bearcats won a tough — and at times ugly — home game against UCLA while the Buckeyes romped Florida Atlantic at The ‘Shoe.

This week, Cincinnati takes the drive up I-71 to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. What will happen in this game? Can the Bearcats pull the upset, or will big brother prevail?

3. This will be closer than the experts think

There’s something to be said about playing in hostile environments, just ask NBA legend Reggie Miller who relished the chance to go on the road and hush the home crowd. The Bearcats will look to do the same thing. Fortunately for Cincinnati, it has two things that travel well: A defense and a running game.

Ohio State looked dominant in its win against Florida Atlantic, and it should have. There were some cracks that a better Cincinnati squad can exploit, however. The re-tooled offensive line has a mix of veterans and young guys, but they don’t have much playing experience, and even less playing together. In fact, they struggled at times to deal with the pressure FAU put on them.

Expect the Bearcats, and their defensive line depth to take advantage of this.

The Bearcats probably won’t win this, but they’ll cover the spread by playing aggressive defense, and ball control offense to keep Justin Fields and Co. off the field.
