After losses in Week 1, both Vanderbilt and Purdue football are looking to get into the win column. Who will notch the victory on Saturday?

The Commodores and Boilermakers both suffered the sting of defeat in Week 1, but in drastically different ways. Purdue lost to a 56-yard Nevada field goal as time expired, while Vanderbilt was beaten handily by Georgia.

Of course, a lot of the teams in college football would get beaten handily by the Bulldogs. For Derek Mason, the message has to be one of moving on and not letting a single result determine your fate.

On the Purdue side, it’s tougher to just accept and move on. Jeff Brohm’s team had a 24-7 lead at the half, and Elijah Sindelar threw a pick that enabled Nevada to kick that least-second field goal.

So both teams, while coming off of drastically different games, are looking to correct what ailed them in Week 1. For Mason and Brohm, games like this are vital, because the conference schedule for each program will always be an uphill battle.
