Florida football opened August with a tough win over their rival in Miami. What should we expect from the Gators this September?
It seems like forever ago since we have seen Florida football on the field against Miami. That game gathered all of our eyes, but it wasn’t necessarily an amazing performance for the Gators. However, it was just one game, and there are still plenty on their schedule to turn things around.
In Week 1, all you really need is a win to stay on pace. Many will forget how the season starts. It only matters if the Gators can continue winning games and finish the season with a strong record. The next step to achieving that goal is performing well in the month of September.
September is where we form our opinions as college football fans. No matter what happens, we will spend the rest of the season confirming the biases we form in September. For Florida, the biases will revolve around whether or not this team can make it to the top tier of the SEC.
We won’t truly know how good Florida is until they play Auburn and Georgia later in the year, but we can learn a lot from them these next few weeks. With a couple of easy games and two SEC opponents scheduled, the Gators will get to work out the kinks without any real risk of losing some of these games.
