2. Defensive line will continue to be biggest strength

When this season began, everyone wanted to talk about Florida’s secondary. I don’t blame them either. With CJ Henderson at corner, the position group has to be pretty good. However, they got exposed at times in their season opener. They gave up some open passes, didn’t press well on soft routes, and they simply couldn’t tackle in the open field to save their lives.

However, another position group saved the day for the Gators defense. It was only one game, but Florida’s defensive line looked absolutely elite. They racked up sacks like it was a line full of Aaron Donalds.

One star on defense that has surprised a lot of people is Jabari Zuniga. Zuniga was expected to be a great leader as a senior, but he exceeded expectations on the field. If he can continue having dominating performances, he will receive a ton of NFL Draft buzz.

Credit this to their talent if you want. Maybe it’s simply because of the lack of experience on Miami’s offensive line. No matter what the reason is, they proved that they can get the job done when given the opportunity.

I expect the secondary to improve from that first performance, but I still see the defensive line to lead the way through September. But will that be enough for Florida to win all of their games this month?
