It’s the rematch that so many have been waiting for, Texas A&M football is headed down to Clemson to take on the reigning Tigers.
A season ago, this was a surprisingly close game live from Kyle Field. Kellen Mond dominated a daunting Clemson defensive front in a game that came down to inches and a questionable call at the goal line. The two-point win ended up being crucial for the Clemson Tigers as they made their push through the College Football Playoff. Had they had one loss on their schedule, who knows what would have happened. Would they still have been picked? Probably, but we can’t know for sure.
Now, Clemson has a different quarterback in Trevor Lawrence and a running back in Travis Etienne that is itching to run all over the Aggies because he was held to less than 100 yards a year ago. Of course, Clemson’s defensive line isn’t the same unit that they were a year ago, so that could be a big help to the Aggies throughout this one. It also helps that Lawrence looked average at best, throwing two picks in the first matchup with Georgia Tech.
A lot of Texas A&M’s top players from a season ago, Kellen Mond notwithstanding, left for the NFL Draft though so it’ll be up to some of the younger guys to step up if Texas A&M wants to win this one. The Aggies turned the ball over twice inside the 5-yard line, something that won’t fly against the defending national champions.
This one is shaping up to be a good one for sure, despite the large group of people who think this one will be an absolute blow out on the side of the Clemson Tigers. So on that note, let’s get bold y’all.
