In a game that has serious College Football Playoff implications, Texas A&M football heads to Clemson. What do the Aggies have to do to win?
Last season, this was one of the games of the year. It came down to a questionable call, a missed two-point conversion and the last few minutes of play to decide a winner.
This season, it has huge implications when it comes to the College Football Playoff and many people aren’t giving the Aggies much of a chance to even come within two touchdowns on the defending national champions while others are saying they will pull off the upset.
What does Texas A&M football have to do to pull off an upset on Saturday night?
3. The offensive line has to play better
One of the biggest struggles the Aggies had against Texas State was the offensive line play. Outside of true freshman guard Kenyon Green, this isn’t exactly a young line, it’s just an inexperienced one. With Erik McCoy and Keaton Sutherland gone to the NFL, the Aggies are scrambling to fill those holes and be able to play with the same strength they did a season ago.
Kellen Mond did a lot of scrambling around and was able to bail out his offensive line on multiple occasions against Texas State and that just won’t do against the likes of Clemson and the Tiger defense. The unit has to step up and be ready to play against much better competition.
