1. Tom Herman’s coaching scheme

Last season, Tom Herman finally came into his own and put a stamp on his head coaching career with a Sugar Bowl victory. He also notched a win over rival Oklahoma in a nail-biter. Learning how to win the hard games and the close games takes time for a young head coach.

Ed Orgeron did notch a tight win against Auburn last season but he also lost a few close ones. Still young in his head coaching career as well, he seems to have a few more growing pains left to go.

This game looks every bit the part of a defensive stalemate that comes down to the wire. In that situation, the edge goes to LSU’s defensive players but I give the edge to Tom Herman’s coaching scheme. I think he finds a way to edge out the Tigers in this one.
