2. Bryce Perkins is dangerous, but needs to clean up mistakes

Don’t get me wrong, I’m on the Bryce Perkins bandwagon and I think he’s one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the country, but for the second week in a row, he made some silly mistakes which led to scores on the other end.

While he can do just about everything and has shown that for the Cavaliers, he really struggled to avoid silly mistakes against William & Mary on Friday night.

Perkins threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns on 16-of-26 passing (which could be cleaned up as well) and rushed for a team-high 68 yards for a touchdown on seven carries, but his turnovers aren’t going to cut it against the rest of the ACC this season. Once he gets to conference play, like next week against Florida State, that won’t fly.

Virginia might be the favorite to win the ACC Coastal this season, but they’re only going to go as far as Perkins takes them and unless he cleans up those mistakes, the Cavaliers will fall short.
