College GameDay is headed to Austin for Week 2’s game of the week between LSU and Texas. Who is the celebrity picker for the big game?

Week 1 was a success for College GameDay as it picked Oregon vs. Auburn as the site for the big game at a neutral site down in Texas, but it didn’t quite have that campus feel — well, because it wasn’t on either team’s campus.

That will change in Week 2 as the crew is headed to Austin for Texas vs. LSU for a major Power Five matchup between the Tigers and Longhorns which has that playoff vibe to it.

Obviously the crew is going to pick someone who has a tie to the Longhorns just as they chose Bo Jackson to represent Auburn in Week 1 as the guest picker.

So who did GameDay go with for Week 2?

Alright, alright, alright. This isn’t a bad choice because, well, Matthew McConaughey is the most famous prominent Longhorn supporter out there and he’s closely affiliated with his alma mater. On top of that, he’s just a likable guy and you know he’s going to make the broadcast entertaining.

While McConaughey is a laid back guy, he loves his Longhorns and his passion for everything Texas has been well-documented. He’s a knowledgeable sports fan — he was even the lead in “We Are Marshall” where he played the Thunder Herd’s head coach after the fatal plane crash that rocked the program in 1970.

Expect to hear plenty of McConaughey chill talk on Saturday morning as he’ll be one of the more interesting characters to grace the set in some time.
