1. Feleipe Franks showed accuracy

Feleipe Franks started sharp and finished sharp. By starting the game 15-15, he even came within two passes of tying the Florida record for the most consecutive passes completed (a record held by Chris Leak).

Franks was consistent on short passes and hit two deep balls for touchdowns, as well. He finished 25-for-27 for 270 yards and two touchdowns. Not only was he good in the pass game; he also used his legs several times to extend plays and pick up first downs. Franks finished with 37 rushing yards.

Franks needed a solid game after his much-maligned performance in Week 1. Whether his performance was deserving of the criticism, he seemed unaffected by the pressure.

Gator fans hope this game was the needed performance to kickstart another stretch like the one Franks put together at the end of last season.

An area that still needs attention is the intermediate passing game. Rare is the pass that travels 12-15 yards, instead the Gators seem comfortable dumping the ball underneath only interrupted by an occasional deep ball. These short passes lead to third downs more often than is healthy for an elite offense.

Overall, Franks is showing obvious improvement and has laid a good foundation in the first two games of the season.
