This one wasn’t as close as it was a season ago and wasn’t nearly as exciting. What did we learn about Texas A&M football’s loss to Clemson?

873. 24. 879. Final. 10

Trevor Lawrence shined and Kellen Mond struggled as the Tigers cruised to victory against Texas A&M. In a game void of many big plays that weren’t dubbed in orange, the Clemson Tigers showed quickly why they’re the top team in the nation and that losing top-ranked defensive linemen didn’t change much of anything in terms of their talent and abilities.

What did we learn about both of these teams?

3. Kellen Mond struggled while Trevor Lawrence shined

Part of it may be him limping around and part of it may be a struggling offensive line, but Kellen Mond did not look all that good. His receivers couldn’t seem to get to the balls that were many times overthrown. There is still a lot of growing to do in that capacity for Mond.

The Aggie quarterback finished 20-for-35 for 205 yards and an interception. Trevor Lawrence finished with only four more completions, but at the very least he threw for a touchdown that wasn’t in garbage time as time expired.

Mond couldn’t get that figured out, once again partly due to over or under throws and partly due to a struggling offensive line, but while the numbers don’t tell much of a story of two different quarterbacks, watching the game — one shined and the other needs some help in this kind of situation.

The season isn’t over for Mond by a long shot and he will learn from this game, as will Lawrence, but this one was not a pretty game for the Aggies.
