It was another wild weekend of SEC football. Who is on the rise after the second week of play and who is in an absolute free-fall?

In only Week 2, the SEC has already hit its rhythm when it comes to drama and entertainment. There was an all-timer in Austin, another low at Rocky Top and a dominant non-conference win for Missouri.

Here’s how the league lines up after the second weekend of the young football season.

After Week 1, it was hard to imagine Tennessee digging its hole any deeper. Against BYU, the Vols did just that.

It wasn’t the loss to the Cougars, but the way it happened. The Vols were more productive in almost every statistical category, and had fewer penalties. Tennessee was up by three points with under a minute left, and BYU had the ball on its own 16-yard line. One 64-yard completion later, and the Cougars forced overtime, and eventually won.

This week, Tennessee will play host to Chattanooga, and yes, I know exactly what you’re thinking. It would be the worst Volunteer loss of an already disappointing season, but at this point, the thought of an upset isn’t crazy.

After a close win over Portland State last week, Arkansas put one in the loss column on Saturday. The Razorbacks managed only three points for a large portion of their matchup with Ole Miss, and the offense only found the end zone late in the fourth quarter, once the result had been decided.

The Razorback defense was especially porous on Saturday. The Rebels had success through the air, but on the ground, gained 237 yards.

Next week, Chad Morris’ team will play host to Colorado State.
