3. Redskins: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia

The Redskins drafted the quarterback of the future in Dwayne Haskins a year ago. Now, they’ll draft the man to protect him.

Andrew Thomas was very good as a freshman at right tackle, and then comfortably moved to left tackle after Isaiah Wynn jumped to the NFL. Thomas has been an integral part of the Georgia rushing attack, paving the way for Nick Chubb, Sony Michel and now D’Andre Swift.

This selection is even more likely given the recent saga involving left tackle Trent Williams. This organization is putting together the pieces of its future. They’ve built a strong defensive interior in recent drafts, partially because they’ve taken what the draft has given them. Last year, it was the quarterback of the future.

This year, when considering the needs of the teams in front of Washington, and the selection of offensive tackles, the Redskins should absolutely get protection for Dwayne Haskins.
