Week 2 saw several close calls and a few upsets. Some interesting college football teams find themselves on upset alert in Week 3.

Heading into Week 3, there are not as many enticing matchups on the docket. No ranked versus ranked games, unfortunately. None of the top five teams appear they will be tested with all five being heavy favorites.

Last week, we went two for five in our picks. Not as good as Week 1, but not bad. UCLA sputtered to an 0-2 start, losing 23-14 to San Diego State. Mack Brown may have something brewing in Chapel Hill as the Tar Heels gained another upset, beating Miami 28-25. The Hurricanes are now 0-2 on the young season.

Ultimately we missed on Minnesota, however the Golden Gophers needed double overtime to dispatch Fresno State. Would have been wrong on Army too had we picked them, but boy did they put a scare into Michigan fans at the Big House last Saturday.

Back to Week 3, many readers will find some of the picks a little on the crazy side this week. That is OK as we are going big or going home. One conference in particular has not earned our trust so they have three teams on upset alert. The odds for each game are provided by Bovada.

Read on for some Week 3 upset alert picks.
